Devised and rolled out at the request of employers' feedback, this course provides employers and their training staff with the relevant skills and qualifications to competently deliver Manual Handling to their workforce.
This 3 day course is delivered remotely for 2 days covering the theory and teaching styles and then delivered face to face in your workplace.
What Is Covered
At the end of the 3 days, staff will be confident and competent in delivering manual handling training to their staff to a much higher level ensuring that their team is capable of delivering the safest and best possible care to their service users.

What Is Covered
- An understanding of how to deliver training and teach manual handling, including strategies and learning styles
- Exploring and learning the key points of manual handling and people handling
- The understanding of legislation relating to manual handling
- An understand of the Mental Capacity Act and core values relating to manual handling
- Accidents and injuries ( including activities)
- Risk assessments and safe loads
- Unsafe and controversial lifts
- Microteach planning ( to assist in teaching competency)
- Lesson planning, learning styles and examples of teaching roles, behaviour and motivation
- Face to face practical training on day 3
- An understanding of the safe use of equipment used for Manual Handling
- Practical Moving and Handling activities, with demonstrations of various equipment including Hoists, Slings, glide sheets
- Rotundas, Bed transfers, chair transfers
At the end of the 3 days, staff will be confident and competent in delivering manual handling training to their staff to a much higher level ensuring that their team is capable of delivering the safest and best possible care to their service users.
